Flash Freezing. Saving Ripe Produce
Flash freezing. Not exactly sexy but darn smart. And smart is sexy. My bananas and papaya were riper than ripe so I’m freezing them up to use as I please. If I chopped them up, tossed is a bag, and popped them in the freezer I would create a chunk of solid fruit. No bueno.
To flash freeze, lay in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Pop in the freezer until frozen hard. Then remove frozen fruit and bag up to store. You can take out one piece or a cupful, easy peasy. How are you prepping for your week?
