Teaching embroidery. Going back to basics. 3 tips:

1. Separate strands one at a time, rather than pulling all three from the six threads in embroidery floss in one go. Smoothing after each pull. Your stitches will show the difference.

2. Cut floss in lengths from finger tips to elbow. Any longer and you risk tangles. The floss also begins to dull rangd show wear when cut longer and pulled through fabric more.

3. Loosen the hoop ring when storing your project in the works to avoid creating a perma ring in fabric.
